Two nights ago, P spent hours searching YouTube, trying to find Eric Stoltz footage from Back to the Future. He mostly failed. For those who haven’t known about this for twenty-five years, Eric Stoltz was originally cast as Marty McFly in Back to the Future, they shot for five weeks, then decided he wasn’t right for the role and cast Michael J Fox. With the upcoming theatrical and blu-ray re-releases, it looks like some new footage is going to drop, and we are all very excited. Today I came across this awesome McFly family photo featuring Eric Stoltz as Marty, and I lost my ish. Enjoy.

What Could Have Been of the Day: Following yesterday’s never-before-seen Back to the Future footage of Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly, another bit of alternate history has surfaced: The infamous “fading family photo” from part 1, with Stoltz instead of Michael J. Fox.

I find few things funnier than the squinty face that Leo makes in that last panel. Too bad whoever made this spelled “Michael Caine” wrong.

Pinkberry: The Movie - IN 3D!

The guys over at William Morris put this together as a joke for their quarterly meeting, and it wasn’t supposed to get out, but well, here it is. If you’re not aware, frozen yogurt spots like Pinkberry are more prevalent down here in LA than Starbucks. Most of them are open until 2am, and they’re delicious. Also, I don’t know if you’re aware, but Hollywood is making some shitty movies, and people are going to see them because they like to pay an extra two bucks for 3D. Bleh.

This short is awesome, though.

A great argument of why the horrible horrible disaster of Sex and the City 2 is actually a science fiction film.

Linda and I saw Exit Through the Gift Shop at the Arclight tonight, and it was spectacular. I urge you all to go find a theater that’s playing it right now, and well, go see it. Linda had read reviews and so she was really interested, but I went in knowing next to nothing. I knew that it was about a street artist named Banksy who is having a documentary made about him, and that at some point the camera gets turned around and becomes about the guy making the documentary. That barely begins to describe the twists and turns this movie makes, but I hesitate to say more. I think going in knowing next to nothing is the best way to experience this film.

The Arclight is maybe the best theater in LA, but it’s also damn expensive. When we go and see a movie there, we make sure that it’s a movie that we really want to see. In other words, it has to be a movie that is worth the $25-$30 it costs for our tickets. IN this case, the Arclight was the only theater playing Exit Through the Gift Shop, so our guideline had to be thrown out, and it became IF WE WANT TO SEE IT WE HAVE TO SEE IT HERE. Well, it was worth it. Great film.

And, only in this town, they were giving away free M.B.W. (it’ll make sense after you see the movie) art posters in the lobby. I sarcastically took two of them, and I will sarcastically hang them in the apartment tomorrow.
